I'm learning...little by little

I now have a gym membership.  It was a Mother's Day gift, of sorts.  I'd been trying to decide between one of those 24 hour places or the Recreation Center at the college my husband works at.  We decided on the latter as my young son can go with us and do some of the activities.  Plus it was cheaper.  Much cheaper.  

Of course, I haven't gone as much as I should.  I know that.  But I'm a procrastinator and, as such, there are 187 other things I need to do rather than work out.  So today I made myself go for the first time in nearly 2 weeks.  Once there, it wasn't so bad.  There weren't many people there so it wasn't too intimidating.  I almost ran out before I used the weight training machines.  I walked by the door and found myself walking right in.  What the hell did my feet just do?  I'd committed myself to going in and doing something.  As a confirmed introvert, I have a hard time with situations like this but I pretended I knew what I was doing.  Luckily, the machines have signs on each one so i picked ones I knew how to do.

I was so proud of myself when I left there!  I actually had a great workout and anticipate I'll really feel it the day after tomorrow.  

So, I just have to "do it" and get this weight off.  I have an 8 year old depending on me to be here to raise him.  I want to be comfortable on an airplane, ride on carnival rides, and walk the Great Wall of China with him.  I cannot do those things at my current plumpness.

Breaking The Ice

Welcome to my blog...I think I created it over a year ago...and didn't even bother to make an entry until now.  Procrastination.  I'm pretty sure it should have been my middle name but I got stuck with the old standby "Lynn" instead.  It's probably better for my self esteem which isn't in that great of shape as it is!

I logged in to Blogger recently to follow an overseas trip of Packages of Hope and saw that I had created this blog.  I actually laughed out loud when I read the title.  If you know me, you'll know it's perfect for me.  Sometimes I'm so witty!  And facetious.  And I put things off...

So, I'll try really hard to post because this is one of the creative outlets that I really need.  Follow me if you'd like to.  I'd love to have the company!
